Helping Hurting people transition into a brighter day.

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound. (Isaiah 61:1)

Women Who Care Ministries (WWCM) is a faith-inspired, community outreach non-profit organization based in Gaithersburg, MD.  The primary mission is to help hurting people overcome; primarily through offering safety net services to those who are low-income and need assistance with overcoming hunger, domestic violence, homelessness and substance abuse.

Our "Taking It To The Streets" outreach, which feeds the homeless, visits nursing homes, and hospitals, and speaks in various industries such as Fortune 500 corporations but also to youth in public and private school sectors, recovery centers, jails, shelters, conferences, etc.  Our primary focus is in combatting childhood hunger and obesity.

Our Second Chance Program, under our outreach umbrella, focuses on yet another aspect of our prison ministry. We are particularly excited about the expansion with work we're doing here.  Our goal this year is to provide mentorship and stabilization to inmates and their children; partnering with various re-entry programs in institutions, one at a time.

Our plans focus on re-shaping the mindset and skillset of the inmates while they are incarcerated so that they have a "second chance" at a productive life, as they will be adequately prepared and equipped to face the outside world,   They will be fortified to get and keep the job; get and keep the housing, thus greatly reducing the rate of recidivism.  We will also be partnering with other organizations who already have programs such as ours who are seasoned and who can asist us in our mission.

Women Who Care Ministries first started as a women's fellowship group when Judith Clark (founder) was divinely led to open her home for the gathering.  Over 35 women attended this first meeting.

The women's fellowship creates a safe haven for women of all backgrounds and religions to break free from the bondage of their past and to embrace God's promises.

From this women's fellowship, men women and children began coming to the meetings and this vehicle served to meet the needs of the entire family.

Around Year Two, Women Who Care Ministries began outreaching to the community-at-large, particularly working with families who were hungry and homeless.

We also began working with persons who were victims of domestic abuse.

From the beginning, WWCM has had a desire to share God's incredible love for the precious people we assist.

We glorify God through service to others, and we are grateful we have been called to serve mankind!
